I've been posting info on my site for over 15 years now in order to help folks out so this is info on my mistakes when purchasing the new Chevy truck recently. This is to help prevent you from getting ripped off like I did.

Lesson #1: Do not trust anything said to you from a new vehicle salesman. I don't know if all of them are like Dobrinski Chevrolet of Kingfisher but I've learned an important lesson and hope that none of you will have to go through the same thing I did. They lied to me about almost everything ... ripped me off because I let the dude pull a 3 card monty type shuffling act on me so I didn't get to read some important information but .. well I'll explain it as best I can. Mark was telling me about all this stuff about Road side assistance, Maintenance plan and other things and I interrupted him and said "does all this stuff come free with the purchase of a new Chevy... He miled really big and said "It sure does" I said "cool!!!" He lied to me and all that stuff applied to the note was over $4000.00 extra. If you go buy a new vehicle and they start telling you about maintenance plan and stuff make sure that if you don't want that stuff to tell them to take it back off there because it's a very expensive mistake to swallow ... when I finally got around to reading my papers I seen that they charged me for all that stuff. I was in a lot of pain when I went to pick the truck up and sign the papers so I was wanting to get it over with as soon as possible.

I found a truck in Ponca City exactly like i wanted except it was white so I kept calling around to other dealers because I wanted a red truck .. I told this guy at Dobrinski's that I found one like I wanted at Ponca City for $21,500 and this guy basically said I was lying to him so I told him where it was at and he called and found out that it was the truth. He said we can't match that but we can put you in one just like it and red for $23,000 and I said okay... let's do it. So when I got in the truck after signing the papers and paying $3000 down on it I asked where the cruise control was ... he said this is a work truck so it doesn't have cruise.. I said but I ordered Cruise and electronic entry as this was what the truck at ponca was equipped with. He said it's not a big deal cause you can get cruise installed for a couple hundred bux. That was another lie. Not only did I not get cruise .... I didn't get electronic entry either.

Mr Dougherty allowed that I was going to love the fuel mileage on this truck as I'll get 24 highway and 18 city.... another lie .. it gets an average of 15 mpg without the boat hooked up and 9mpg with the boat hooked up .. even worse if you're heading into the wind.

I always thought this stuff was associated with used car salesmen but they really got me cause not only did I get less but paid more than what was agreed upon ... hahaha ... them rascals charged me over $24000 for that truck ... wish I was driving a white truck now cause it was priced right and had all the features I wanted.

This is just a word of caution when you go to buy a new vehicle ... especially from Dobrinski of Kingfisher or Okarche either one ... read the papers very carefully and tell them up front when signing the papers that you don't want them to add anything to the note without asking you first. Just be really careful when purchasing a new vehicle and don't take anything for granted that things are the way that you agreed on.
